Marie Wright, PhD, CHS-V, is a Professor of Management Information Systems at Western Connecticut State University. There, she developed the nation's first undergraduate course in information systems security and led the implementation of the nation's first interdisciplinary undergraduate program in information security management within a school of business. She received her Ph.D. in Information and Control Systems from the University of Massachusetts/Amherst, and has been actively involved in the field of information security/information assurance for more than twenty years.
She has co-authored two books, and authored numerous book chapters and articles, on information systems security. She has served as a panel review member for the National Science Foundation's Federal Cyber Service: Scholarship for Service program, and as a member of the National Science Foundation's National Visiting Committee for the Cybersecurity: Washington Area Technician and Consortium Headquarters (CyberWATCH) Regional Center. She also has served as a review board member for the National Security Agency's Center of Academic Excellence in Information Assurance Education program.
