Nestor served 23 years as a Military Intelligence Officer in the United States Army and retired as a Lieutenant Colonel. He is a graduate of the Military Intelligence Officer Basic and Advance Courses; Command and Staff Service School; Command and General Staff College; and received his Master's of Science in National Security and Strategic Studies from the Naval Command and Staff College, Newport, Rhode Island. Nestor is pursuing his Doctorate in Strategic Leadership and Organizational Management.
Nestor currently serves as the Forces Command Southeast Regional Lead for the Asymmetric Warfare Counter-IED Integration Cell and is responsible for the Counter-IED pre-deployment, integration and sustainment training for the 3d Infantry Division. Also, Nestor is Level V Certified with the American Board for Certification in Home Land and Security and serves on the American Intelligence Analyst Board of Directors.
