Bishop Bruce Wright serves as Manager of the Department of Spiritual Care for University Community Hospital in Tampa Florida. In that capacity, he is responsible for the oversight of the Spiritual Care departments and the Patient Advocate Liaison (PAL) programs for the five hospitals in the UCH system. Bishop Wright also serves on the following hospital committees: Palliative Care, Ethics, Clinical Leadership, GMI Curriculum, Resource Nurse Leadership, Disaster Leadership, Donation Advisory, and NEW Coaching. Bishop Wright has received a number of certifications including Clinical Pastoral Education, Critical Incident Stress Management (CISM), Compassion Fatigue, and Disaster Chaplain Training. He has authored numerous presentations and articles centered around increasing the awareness of spiritual and emotional needs of patients in a clinical setting. After receiving his undergraduate degree in education, Bishop Wright went on to earn his MDiv. and PhD in pastoral counseling. He serves as the Bishop Ordinary for the diocese of St. John the Beloved in The Communion of Evangelical Episcopal Churches. Married for thirty-six years, Bruce and Elaine live outside of Tampa FL. They have three children and six grandchildren.
