Michael Nossaman is the founder, and currently serves as President of, the Protective Security Council (PSC), an international organization established to serve the information and educational needs of security professionals. In 2007 he launched the Protective Security Conference, a seminar based education program. The PSC Conference curriculum is accepted by ASIS International as continuing education credit for recertification of its members.
Michael Nossaman is also the President of Varro Press, Inc., a company he founded in 1989, that specializes in book publishing and educational programs for security and law enforcement personnel.
Mr. Nossaman is the founder of TREXPO: The Tactical & Technology Resources Expo & Conference. Founded in 1989, TREXPO combined an extensive educational program with an exhibition of specialized equipment for law enforcement, security, and government agency personnel from around the world. Under Mr. Nossaman's leadership, TREXPO became the largest event of its kind in the world. TREXPO was acquired by another media company in 2001 and remains in operation today.
From 1989 to 1994 Mr. Nossaman also served as the Chief Administrative of the Tactical Response Association (TRA), an international organization of security, law enforcement, and military personnel engaged in high-risk security operations, counterterrorism, and law enforcement and military special operations.
From 1989 to 1997 Mr. Nossaman served as Publisher and Editor-In-Chief of TACTICS, a magazine for law enforcement and security personnel. During that same period he also published The Trainer: The Journal of the American Society of Law Enforcement Trainers (ASLET), and The Firearms Instructor: The Official Journal of the International Association of Law Enforcement Firearms Instructors (IALEFI).
Mr. Nossaman has edited 17 professional security and law enforcement books including the Executive Protection Specialist Handbook, by Jerry Glazebrook and Nick Nicholson; Providing Protective Services: A Practical Guide for Police & Security, by Dr. James A. King; Advance: The Guide For Conducting A Protective Security Advance by David L. Johnson; and The Unspoken Dialogue: Understanding Body Language and Controlling Interviews and Negotiations by Dr. Robert R. Rail.
Mr. Nossaman is a member of the Protective Security Council, ASIS International, the International Association of Chiefs of Police, and the American Board for Certification in Homeland Security, and is a member of the Board of Directors of the American Board for Certification in Dignitary and Executive Protection.
